Pedigree Child Contact Centre

About You

What are the rules?

The most important people are the children and we hope that they will have good memories and warm feelings about their visit. We try to have as few rules as possible. However – as the Contact Centre is used by several families at the same time, consideration for the comfort and safety of all users is important. Therefore, we’re grateful to families for following these guidelines which are there to help everyone maintain a friendly and warm atmosphere.

  • Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and supervision of their children throughout the contact period(at the contact Centre or in the community) and personal belongings.
  • Where English is not the first language of the family involved and problems may arise with communication referrers should make arrangements for an interpreter
  • To try and maintain a friendly, impartial and confidential environment, we would request that you do not at any time ask to see your clients on our premises without prior agreement.
  • The Child Contact Centre reserves the right to reduce or terminate contact if it is felt to be in the best interests of the child. This include but not limited to where the people having contact are under the influence of or carrying alcohol and drugs.
  • Parents should be informed that because the welfare of the child is paramount, there might be times when contact cannot take place if the child is too upset even if there is a contact order.
  • Please notify the Child Contact Centre Co-Ordinator if the arrangements for contact are going to change or if contact is going to cease.
  • Children should not be left alone without a parent present. Volunteers will help take your child from one parent to the other parent (the parents must not leave the Centre until the child is safely in the care of the other parent.
  • A child may go out of the contact Centre during a visit only if it is so stated on the referral form or with a written consent of both parents.
  • Extended families and friends can only attend if they are named on the referral form.
  • There must be no arguing in front of the children/at the centre. Any such behaviours including abusive/aggressive and offensive comments will not be tolerated. We will ask anyone displaying such behaviours to leave.
