Parenting shouldn’t end when relationships do.

When parents separate there is a serious risk of children losing contact with their non-resident parent. This can have a devastating effect on the wellbeing and mental health of all concerned. In the UK more than a million young people have little or no contact with one of their parents. The team behind Pedigree Child Contact Centre have seen the negative impact of conflict and separation on children of all ages. It can be difficult for parents, who find it hard to communicate with each other, to ensure that their children have meaningful contact with them both.

Pedigree Child Contact Centre has been set up to create a safe space for families like these in London and the surrounding areas. Parents can use our facilities to ensure their children maintain long-term, positive relationships with those closest, and most important to them. The team a volunteers who impartial and receives initial and ongoing training. The volunteers are not not social workers and/or legal experts/advisors, They are not responsible for looking after your children, The volunteers provide are there to welcome and help you register, provide play equipment and refreshments, look out for safety and generally manage the contact centre smoothly.

Our aim is to create a safe, friendly and child-focused environment where children can continue to have positive contact with their non-resident parent. It is vital that both parents, and, where appropriate, their extended families, can maintain and develop open and loving relationships with the children. We know how important it is for families to feel secure, comfortable and positive. The facilities we offer are designed to ensure both parents can feel relaxed and stress-free during the contact sessions.

Children need to feel safe, settled and cared for by all their family members. Our centre offers families the chance to keep the contact and communication going even when the separation is not amicable. Family relationships help shape identities and a sense of belonging. Pedigree Child Contact Centre helps parents ensure that children have a sense of their place in their immediate family and their community. Each of us has a pedigree that tells us where we belong.
